THE HOME OF CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS SINCE 1899.

Matthew Walker, a Derbyshire's farmer's son, started the business in the 1880's producing a range of preserves and Christmas Puddings from his mother's special recipes.

As demand for his products grew, he needed an outlet for his wares. An old friend called Hodgkinson, ran a grocers shop and agreed to sell Matthew Walker's products through his shop.

The Puddings soon established a reputation for quality and the business thrived. By 1899 Matthew Walker was able to open a small factory in Exeter Street, Derby. In the mid 1960's the business moved to a purpose built factory in Heanor, Derbyshire, where it remains to this day employing 120 permanent staff and up to 300 people during the Christmas season.
